Education (pol_utdanning)

Politicians' professions is a field where we must expect large gaps in the data material. Duplicates cannot be avoided either, as the information comes from several older database tables.

• sto_UtdanningYrke$ – deals with Storting politicians and is taken from data.stortinget.no. This is probably the most important source and the only one that is being updated.
• B1905_Utdyrke – primarily contains information for representatives who have had a seat in the Storting 1903-1945. There are timed registrations in the period 1850-1938.
• Pol_Bakgrunn – mainly older parliament and government politicians, all the way back to 1814. See NSD-rapport 73, ‘Politikerarkivet 1814-1986’.
• Pol_Storting – information about the Storting representatives' work during the individual Storting periods in which the person is represented. See NSD-rapport 73, ‘Politikerarkivet 1814-1986’.

Some time ago, data from the first three tables were collected in the table Politikere_yrke, which therefore does not add anything new, and which unfortunately became a bit deficient.

Updates will typically take place every four years after a new parliamentary term has been established. The SQL script for this update has not yet been created at the time of writing, but will be able to start by comparing new data with the records we have with source 'Stortinget'.

Occupation in plain text.

First year (fra_år)

First year in professional activity. Is NULL if the year is not specified.

Last year (til_år)

Last year in professional activity. Is NULL if the year is not specified.
