DATA ON THE POLITICAL SYSTEM

Positions (pol_verv)

Politicians' positions is a field where we must expect large gaps in the data material. Duplicates cannot be avoided either, as the information comes from several older database tables.

Updates will typically take place every four years after a new parliamentary term has been established. The SQL script for this update has not yet been created at the time of writing, but will be able to start by comparing new data with the records we have with source 'Stortinget'.

Personal identification number (person)

Main index. Continuous internal identifier from the table i_politikere. Is mandatory and unique. Example: Tina Bru is 31610.

Type (type)

What kind of position. We differenciate between:
- Public positions
- Office of trust in parties
- Positions of trust in organisations
- Other administrative positions

Role (rolle)

What the activity is about, for example 'Member' or 'Chairman'.

Organisasjon (organisasjon)

Location of the activity, such as ‘Styret for Jærens meieri’.

Place (sted)

Any geographical location of the office, like a county, one or more municipalities, or something else. More often than not, the location is not specified.

First year (fra_år)

First year in the role. Is NULL if the year is not specified.

Last year (til_år)

Last year in the role. Is NULL if the year is not specified.

Note (merknad)

Additional information.

Source (kilde)
