Terms of Use for Data
These terms apply to all use of data from PolSys – The Political System in Norway, which is administered by Sikt – The Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research.
When using data in publications, analyses, or media, Sikt must be cited as the data source, and the following citation format should be used:
"Sikt – Kunnskapssektorens tjenesteleverandør. (n.d.). Polsys. Retrieved [date], from https://polsys.sikt.no/."
This ensures proper source attribution and makes it possible to understand the underlying data used in the results. Below you will find recommended reference formulations for the different archives included in PolSys.
Archive of Politicians
Part of the data used in this publication is sourced from Sikt's Politician Archive. The material is based on historical and contemporary sources provided by, among others, the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), the Department of Sociology at the University of Bergen, and the Storting, and has been processed by Sikt. Neither the contributing institutions nor Sikt are responsible for the interpretations or analyses made by the user.
Storting
Archive of Voting Records
Part of the data is sourced from Sikt's Voting Archive. The material is provided by the Storting Archive and processed by Sikt. Neither the Storting Archive nor Sikt is responsible for the interpretations made by the user.
Archive of Voting Records 1814–1940
Part of the data is sourced from Sikt's Voting Archive 1814–1940. The material is provided by the Department of History at the University of Oslo and processed by Sikt. Neither UiO nor Sikt is responsible for analyses or interpretations.
Archive of Remarks in Recommendations
Part of the data is sourced from Sikt's Committee Remarks Archive. Material for the period 1945–1977 was provided by Hilmar Rommetvedt (IRIS), and later updates were made by Sikt. Neither Rommetvedt nor Sikt is responsible for the user's analyses.
Archive of Private Proposals
Part of the data is sourced from Sikt's Archive of private proposals. The material was originally prepared by Astri Hildrum and later made available by Sikt. Neither Hildrum nor Sikt is responsible for the interpretations made by the user.
Archive of Political Culture Quotes
Part of the data is sourced from Sikt's archive of political culture quotes. The material was prepared by Marit Bakke, University of Bergen, and made available by Sikt. Neither Bakke nor Sikt is responsible for analyses or interpretations.
