The Storting's subject catalogue (i_storting_emner)

Subject codes for matters that are dealt with in the Storting.

The starting point is the old polsys table t_storting_vot_emnegruppe , which was exactly the same as t_storting_votering_emnegruppe_nytt . The content has been checked against the Storting's data service (data.stortinget.no/dokumentation-og-hjelp/emner/) on 06/09/2023. The only new thing is a new subject 228 YOUNG PEOPLE under main subject 40 FAMILY. (From before, we have 125 YOUTH WORK under main subject 6 CULTURE.)

Another existing Polsys table is DOK_Emnekoder. This one has completely different codes. It is not known what these codes stand for. To be safe, we leave this table as it is.

Subject codes (kode)

Consecutive number indicating the subject. Main index. The code 99999 stands for 'not specified' - in the old fashion. Here, there may be changes according to the use in the Voting Archive, either that the code is set to 0, that the code goes out of use, or that we find the themes again when generating new data.

Subject name (emnenavn)

Norwegian name of the topic. Always present.

Engelsk subject name (emnenavn_en)

Any English name of the subject.

Main subject (hovedemne)

Subject code for the main subject. Is NULL if this subject is the main subject.
