Counties (i_fylke)

Indicates Norwegian counties and territories (Svalbard, Jan Mayen) through the ages. In some cases, the county is changed and then returned to the previous one. We then make one entry for each era, for example 07 Vestfold – 38 Vestfold and Telemark – 39 Vestfold.

County number (fylknr)

Enter county number. Example: 38 indicates Vestfold and Telemark. The county number is the number of ten municipalities divided by 100. The county number should be presented with two digits, with an initial 0 if necessary.

Name (navn)

County name.

First year (fra_år)

First year when the county existed with the relevant number and name.

Last year (til_år)

Last year when the county existed with the relevant number and name. Existing counties have the value 9999.
