Data years: 1865, 1924-1969

Abstract

This archive consists of quotes from debates in the Norwegian parliament (the Storting) regarding Norwegian cultural policy. The quotes show attitudes towards culture among Norwegian politicians. The period from 1924-1969 is first and foremost covered, but some quotes from 1865 are also included.

The quotes are gathered by professor emeritus Marit Bakke from the Institute of information and media science at the University of Bergen. Her scope of study has been to find out whether the politicians have treated culture as a public good in connection to the welfare policy of Norway.

The quotes are available for inspection and analysis directly on the Internet, however, only in Norwegian.
